Woman Killed, Man Arrested After Route 6 Accident

One woman is dead and a man is under arrest after a two car crash on Route 6 in Westport.

According to The Herald News, a woman in her 70's was killed after being hit by a 63-year-old man that witnesses say was driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed.

The victim was ejected from her car after she was struck from behind by the suspect's vehicle traveling westbound on Route 6.

Westport police believe the suspect was under the influence of alcohol.

The male is facing multiple charges including motor vehicle homicide and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
