First responders in Dartmouth extracted a Westport woman from a crashed Subaru before dawn on Wednesday.

At approximately 5:36 a.m., Dartmouth Police and other emergency personnel responded to the area of 559 State Road to investigate a motor vehicle rollover with entrapment. They found that a 2005 Subaru had flipped and struck a utility pole.

The 62-year-old female operator from Westport was extricated from the vehicle and transported to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River with non-life-threatening injuries.

Because of downed utility wires, State Road (Rt. 6) was temporarily closed.

The cause of the crash is still currently under investigation, according to a spokesman from the Dartmouth Police Department.
