A lot of people frustrated with "buffering"  and choppy audio last night while trying to watch the Boston Strong concert were all wondering the same thing.  Why the heck is this concert NOT on TV?  After all, the national networks carried the concerts for Hurricane Sandy and the Oklahoma tornados.

Wouldn't it have been nice to have the concert televised to millions with a 1-800 number scrolling below that would encourage people to make donations to onefundboston.org?  So why didn't it happen?

I am hearing from music industry sources that all 4 local Boston TV stations were itching to air the concert beginning to end, but that the concert promoter nixed the idea.  Why?  Because of plans to sell a DVD.  I'm thinking they're going to have to sell an awful lot of those DVD's to make up for the major potential fundraising that could have happened with people calling in with pledges.  That's assuming that every penny of the DVD sales goes to onefundboston.org.
