The U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, Andrew Lelling, has hammered the Latin Kings. Everyone who has been to a St. Patrick's Day event knows he is our Clancy.

There is a great Irish song about a man who has seen too much and decides to take a forceful stand, "Clancy Lowered The Boom."

Lelling and his team lowered the boom on the Latin Kings all across Massachusetts on Thursday. The mythical Clancy used a blackthorn wood shillelagh to lower the boom. The very real Andrew Lelling used over 500 members of law enforcement to lower the boom.

One of the communities U.S. Attorney Lelling defended with his strike was the city of New Bedford. Working with Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, more than 20 members of the Latin Kings organized crime organization were arrested in New Bedford. Two missing juveniles from Bristol County were also located in the raids.

According to WBSM News, the city of New Bedford was a crucial target of the raids. "New Bedford was a major focus of warrants executed this morning, U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling confirmed during a Boston press conference. Lelling said New Bedford was prioritized due to the high level of violence stemming from the Latin Kings and their domination of drug trafficking in the city."

The families of Greater New Bedford are safer today than they were yesterday because Andrew lowered the boom.
