WHALE Pledges To Increase Preservation Efforts
The Waterfront Historic Area League or WHALE is pledging to increase preservation efforts in the city of New Bedford, beyond the downtown historic district.
The strategic plan was announced Wednesday night during the organizations Annual Meeting at the Waypoint Event Center.
Interim Executive Director Wendy Nicholas tells WBSM News, New Bedford is full of history....
Nicholas says WHALE will continue to champion preservation projects on their own, and partner with others to preserve historic structures.
The organization will also work to develop a coalition to make the Community Preservation Act a reality in New Bedford.
The act allows taxpayers to contribute to help save historic properties, and preserve green space for recreation.
