Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let's talk cats.

Hundreds of animals are up for adoption on the SouthCoast and it is our mission to get as many adopted as possible. Each week, with the help of local shelters, we highlight one lucky animal in hopes of finding its perfect family.

This week, we head to Fairhaven Animal Shelter in Fairhaven, where a young cat hopes to meet the perfect family.

Meet Tina, a 7-month-old cat that had a rough start.

"If you believe in the nine-lives theory, then Tina has eight left," Terry Cripps of Fairhaven Animal Shelter said.

A few months ago, an animal control officer was called after Tina was struck by a car. Upon arrival, the officer learned that Tina had crawled into the engine of a parked car after she was struck on Route 6. With the help of Fairhaven police officers, she was removed from the car and rushed to the vet.

"After the initial examination, we thought that she would lose her right front leg," Cripps said. "She was cared for by our staff and she was able to keep it."

Tina is spayed and ready to spend the rest of her life with a loving family. She loves other cats, loves people and hopes to find a happy forever home.

Does Tina sound like a good fit for you and your family? Contact Fairhaven Animal Shelter, like them on Facebook, and schedule a play date today.

Tina can't wait to meet you.
