Happy Wet Nose Wednesday!

Wednesday has become our favorite day because we get to talk about animals, specifically the adorable ones up for adoption. Hundreds of animals on the SouthCoast are ready to go home for good, and each week, we give one animal the spotlight.

This week, we head to Fall River where a  little pup is spinning with excitement.

Say hello to Sesame.

Sesame resides at Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River, and truth be told, the shelter isn't quite sure about his breed. He may be a Chihuahua/Corgi or a Chihuaha/Papillon, but whatever he is, he is certainly adorable.

"This guy spins in circles when he gets excited," the shelter said.

Sesame is 10 pounds of cuteness and is always in a good mood. He is great with other dogs but when it comes to cats, that's a big no-no.

While Sesame is typically friendly, he gets a little nippy.

"We think he was taught that hands were toys as a puppy and he's going to have to be trained out of it," the shelter said. "He's not aggressive at all, but he will mouth at fingers, so we don't want to place him with young children, either."

The shelter believes Sesame is around 2 years old, but this little one still displays typical puppy behavior and will require some house training.

Fenced-in yards are an absolute must for Sesame as he likes to escape and toys aren't really his thing. But he's a great cuddler and will make a loving companion for any home.

The shelter urges no cats or young children in the home.

If SouthCoast Dogs Had a Dating App, It Would Look Something Like This

August 26 is International Dog Day, and it got me thinking. What if there was a way for dogs to connect with other dogs in the area to make new friends? Or maybe even find love? Twenty-six dogs living on the SouthCoast sent me their profile picture and bio. Let's see the eligible pups.

Anne Soares created "Home for Paws Pet Photo Day" to raise money for the Humane Society and Shelter SouthCoast, and the cuteness of these dog portraits did not disappoint.
