Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! It's the best day of the week because it's all about the animals.

Every Wednesday, we look to unite an animal that is up for adoption on the SouthCoast with the perfect forever family. With the help of local shelters, we share their stories.

This week, a sweet dog in New Bedford is hoping to play some fetch and steal your heart.

Meet Peach. Peach is a 4-year-old, 42-pound mixed breed at Lighthouse Animal Shelter in New Bedford. She started off as a quiet wallflower but she has truly blossomed into a happy, playful pup with a tail that is always wagging.

Peach's favorite hobby is playing with her ball.

"She is a toy enthusiast who can keep herself entertained and loves romping around with her hound dog friends at the shelter," said Lighthouse Animal Shelter.

Peach is housebroken, she is quiet in her crate, and she is great with other dogs. She is polite to humans but she is still a bit nervous around children, so the shelter recommends a child-free home.

Peach is still mastering the art of leash walking, but she is eager to please and willing to learn.

"Peach is ready for her forever home where she can entertain you and bring you joy and a smile to your face, and where she can continue to blossom," said the shelter.

Does Peach sound like a good fit for you and your family? Contact Lighthouse Animal Shelter online and schedule a play date today.
