Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let's talk animals.

Having a pet is the best feeling in the world. If you are considering a new pet for your home, consider adopting from one of the many incredible shelters on the SouthCoast.

Thanks to the work of these shelters, hundreds of animals have a chance to find a forever home.

This week, we spotlight a dog in New Bedford, a ray of sunshine on four legs.

Meet Muffin.

Muffin is a 4-year-old, 40-pound Husky mix at Lighthouse Animal Shelter in New Bedford. Muffin came to the shelter with an injury to her paw/wrist, but she is healing well and ready to find her forever family.

Muffin is the ultimate love bug. She isn't afraid to beg for belly rubs and if the sun is out, you'll find her sunbathing in the sunniest spot she can find.

Muffin loves to get brushed, she loves running in the yard, and she loves to snuggle.

"She is a very well-behaved dog, and is good in her crate," the shelter said. "She seems very attentive, and would likely be very easy to train."

Does Muffin sound like a good fit for you and your family? Contact Lighthouse Animal Shelter, like them on Facebook, and schedule a play date today.

Muffin cannot wait to meet you.

If SouthCoast Dogs Had a Dating App, It Would Look Something Like This

August 26 is International Dog Day, and it got me thinking. What if there was a way for dogs to connect with other dogs in the area to make new friends? Or maybe even find love? Twenty-six dogs living on the SouthCoast sent me their profile picture and bio. Let's see the eligible pups.
