Description:
United Way of Greater New Bedford is partnering with the New Bedford Police Department on Saturday, February 13 for this special event. The New Bedford Police Department needs your help to get “USDA Farmers to Families Boxes” of fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, and meat products to members of the community. “We need volunteers to help with check-in and put boxes into cars. Boxes weigh approximately 35 pounds each.”

This event will take place at 1331 Cove Road in New Bedford from 9:30 am to 2 pm on the following Saturdays:

  • February 13
  • February 20
  • February 27
  • March 6

You may register to volunteer as an individual or as a team.

Volunteers should be 16 or older
This opportunity is not a family-friendly event
The event will take place outdoors

The Mass Military Support Foundation is sponsoring USDA Farmers to Families Food Boxes that offer “well-balanced, prepackaged perishable food boxes to combat the massive food insecurity problem posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.” Please note that the distribution process follows all COVID-19 health guidelines.
