Description
A volunteer tutor for United Way of Greater New Bedford will meet either one or two times each week, based on the need of the student. A volunteer tutor provides homework help for students from grades four through 10. Assistance is focused on the subjects of Math and/ or ELA. A tutor will also provide organizational strategies for homework.
Qualifications:
A volunteer tutor should be able to speak English or is Bilingual; English and Spanish speakers needed. A tutor should be an effective communicator, flexible, organized, and have the capacity to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and languages. Volunteer tutors are asked to commit to between four and eight hours each month.
The schedule will be determined based on the volunteer's and student's availability.
Anyone interested in this position must consent to and pass a CORI.
