American Legion Post 1 in New Bedford is hosting an event on Saturday, October 27 designed to support veterans and their families. A Resource and Benefits Fair will be held that day at the Fort Rodman-Fort Taber Community Center. This event will offer veterans information on State and Federal benefits, housing, healthcare and much more. Post 1 Senior Vice-Commander Pete Wilde joins Jim Phillips this week on Townsquare Sunday to discuss the resource fair, which will include a visit by Mass. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Francisco Urena, a display of military vehicles and other activities. Families are invited.

There will even be companies prepared to talk to you about open job listings, interviews, and some hiring right on the spot. Please bring your resume if this interests you.

Also, all Veterans should bring a copy of their DD214 if possible...this will just help the folks with what resources are available directly to you. Military Vehicles will be on display bring the family.
