Don't fight to get a seat at your favorite restaurant this Valentine's Day weekend. Treat your sweetheart to dinner, a play and live music all under one roof at the James Arnold Mansion.

On Saturday, February 16, the James Arnold Mansion will host a Valentine's Dinner and Play fundraiser in the legendary Wamsutta Club. The event will feature cocktails, dinner, a two-act play by Your Theatre and live music by Ken and Donna of Living the Dream. The event will also feature a silent auction with items including jewelry, wine baskets, restaurant gifts cards, and other Valentine-themed gifts.

James Arnold Mansion

In 1821, James Arnold built the mansion at the current 427 County Street location and moved his family there. The family hosted many parties attended by New Bedford's most elite. The mansion is best known for its private social club, the Wamsutta Club, which was formed in 1866 and still exists today.  Along with the Wamsutta Club, many non-profits from around New Bedford rely on the James Arnold Mansion for meeting spaces and events. Its continued preservation is crucial to all who use it and the Valentine Fundraisers is just one of the many ways people can help protect it.

There are a limited number of tickets available for this event. They can be purchased for $65 per person or $125 per couple.  The event is just one of the many fundraising efforts to help restore the building's slate roof, which is 100 years old and in need of repair.
