Power of the Purse Returns With an In Person Event This Spring
After two consecutive years of celebrating Power of the Purse with a virtual event, United Way of Greater New Bedford is bringing this ladies’ night back out to the real world, just in time for its 5th anniversary.
United Way announced on Friday, January 28 that the annual Power of the Purse event is returning in person at the Kilburn Event Center on Thursday, April 28 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. This is the quintessential ladies’ night complete with entertainment, networking, cocktails, and an exquisite online designer handbag auction with brands and styles you know and love. Power of the Purse supports Women United's initiatives focused on early childhood development and literacy.
Courtney Kelley from Cat Country returns as the host, and Brendan from B Sharp Entertainment is back as your DJ to keep the party going all night long. This year’s event will also include a few surprises not seen in years past.
Tickets to the Power of the Purse event are now available online. A General Access ticket will cost $100 and allows entry right at 6:30. VIP tickets are $175 and allow entry at 5:30 with a glass of champagne. Click here for details and to purchase tickets.
If you need a reason to clean out your closet, United Way is still collecting bags in either new or like-new condition through the end of March.
I was lucky enough to attend the virtual events in 2020 and 2021. While I have yet to experience Power of the Purse in person, I have no doubt that this year will be one to remember.
