The United Way of Greater New Bedford has more than 40 people in the community on Wednesday, working at non-profit agencies during its Day of Caring.

This year the United Way purposely scheduled the Day of Caring program on September 11th, a national day of service.

Celeste Pinheiro of Morgan Advanced Materials was leading a team of workers doing yard work at a home for the disabled in Fairhaven......

The four people working in Fairhaven were paid by their employer to spend the day working in the community for the United Way.
