Two local Southcoast residents recently walked away with $650,000 after taxes for winning big on a MassLottery scratch ticket.

According to South Coast Today.com, a man from Assonet and a woman from Somerset were the two people who purchased the large prized MassLottery tickets.

“Denis Provost of Freetown was a $1 million prize winner in the Second Chance Drawing in the lottery's "Supreme Millions" instant game.”

Provost will be joined by Kathleen Laprise of Somerset, who is the first $1 million prize winner in the lottery's "Lucky Shamrocks" instant game.

Both winners plan to purchase the same exact thing with their winnings, which is a new home.

Laprise’s winning ticket was purchased at Joe's Markey on Robeson Street in Fall River. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale.
