Two Reported Robberies Under Investigation in New Bedford
NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police are investigating two reported robberies in the city on Thursday.
Police received a report at about 5 p.m. on Thursday of a man who claimed he was struck in the face in the area of Holly Street and Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford's North End. The victim said his wallet and cell phone were taken. The man was taken to St. Luke's Hospital with injuries that did not appear to be serious.
New Bedford Police received a similar report at 11:55 p.m. on Thursday. The victim told police he was approached by another man in the 80-block of Belleville Road, also in New Bedford's North End. The victim claimed the man punched and kicked him, and then stole his keys.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
