Two Out-of-Towners Arrested for Delivering Drugs to New Bedford
NEW BEDFORD - Two men from out of town are arrested in New Bedford, with police seizing nearly $14,000 worth of heroin.
New Bedford Police say an investigation into drug deliveries being made to the city led to the Wednesday arrests of 45-year-old Jonior Sanchez of Lawrence and 54-year-old Jose Tavarez of East Elmhurst, New York.
Police stopped the men in their BMW in the area of Cook and Mill Streets around 9 P.M. Wednesday, and found the heroin in their possession.
They're both charged with trafficking in heroin (over 100 grams) and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
