Two New Bedford residents are arraigned in connection with the New Year's Eve killing of Aaron Gant, Jr.

Bristol County D.A. Spokesman Gregg Miliote says 25-year-old Chad Santos was ordered held on $100,000 bail, with his girlfriend, 24-year-old Kathleen Rivera held on $1,000. Both are charged with lying to police in the ongoing murder investigation.

A third suspect, 21-year-old Lorena Rivera, Kathleen's sister, was also arrested Wednesday night and is being held without bail until her arraignment Friday.

Prosecutors say on New Year's Eve, multiple gunshots were fired from the vehicle behind the car Gant was a passenger in, with three bullets striking the vehicle and one in the back of Gant's head. New Bedford and State Police are looking for the vehicle from which the shots were fired, and their investigation led them to question Santos and the Rivera sisters.
