A police raid at a New Bedford Housing Authority property yielded two arrests after detectives found 119 grams of fentanyl, a loaded 45-caliber handgun, and $4,240 in cash.

New Bedford police executed a search warrant at a Presidential Heights apartment at 8 Monroe Drive on Oct. 22 and arrested 33-year-old Marquise Dwayne Thompson, 33, of that address, and David Acosta, 25, of 109 Ashley Blvd. Thompson was charged with drug trafficking and conspiracy, and Acosta was charged with drug trafficking, conspiracy, and firearms offenses.

Detective Lavar Gilbert investigated the case. The New Bedford Police Department does not release booking photos or incident reports to the press. No further information was provided in a media release distributed by New Bedford Police Department Communications Director Melissa Batchilder.
