Two New Bedford Men Arrested in Heroin Bust
NEW BEDFORD — Narcotics detectives were investigating street-level narcotics use in the West End, when they observed suspicious behavior between an individual walking in the area of Shawmut Avenue and Campbell Street, and an individual in a vehicle.
Upon further investigation, detectives arrested two people.
Horace Blake Jr., 30, of Sawyer St., New Bedford, was charged with possession of heroin, conspiracy to violate drug laws and possession of class A substance, subsequent offense.
Javier Mendez-Colon, 27, of Shawmut Ave., New Bedford, was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug laws and possession of class A substance with intent to distribute, subsequent offense.
The arrests were made at 8:14 p.m. on Thursday.
