Two New Bedford Men Arrested After Threats Exchanged
NEW BEDFORD — Two city men are arrested just as a fight was about to break out.
New Bedford Police were called to Collette Street just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a disturbance.
As police arrived, two men who knew each other were about to fight. Police say both men were armed with weapons, but did not disclose what they were. One of the men was making threats.
Police arrested the men, Jonathan Pina-Lomba, 26, of 1459 Acushnet Avenue, and Charles Valliere, 50, of 188 Collette Street. Both face charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.
Pina-Lomba faces additional charges of threatening to commit a crime, trespassing, intimidating a witness, carrying a weapon, and threatening use of a firearm.
