New Bedford fire officials are investigating after a fire Wednesday night and another fire early Thursday morning.

Fire Chief Michael Gomes says the first fire occurred 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 355 Court Street.

The fire caused serious damage to the first and second floor with damage estimates around $60,000.

Three residents were evacuated but there were no injuries.

The second fire took place on Bullard Street around midnight.

Chief Gomes says discarded materials caught fire in front of 115 Bullard Street and caused some exterior damage up to the buildings roof line.

However, Gomes says fire crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading inside the building.

No injuries were reported but the damage is estimated at $30,000.

Both incidents are under investigation.
