Two More New Bedford Residents Die of Heroin Overdoses
New Bedford Police say two New Bedford men are dead after apparent heroin overdoses over the weekend.
Detective Captain Steven Vicente tells WBSM News a 57-year-old man that was found dead on a fishing boat was discovered with a syringe near his body. He was found dead by his nephew on the vessel Dinah Jane, owned by Carlos Rafael.
A 34-year-old man was also found dead at about 10am Saturday inside a Myrtle Street home. Vicente says the cause of death also appears to be a heroin overdose.
Vicente says as far as he knows, neither man had received treatments of Narcan before their deaths.
So far this year, six New Bedford residents have died as a result of heroin overdoses.
