FALL RIVER — Two men have been killed and two women injured in a shooting in Fall River overnight Tuesday, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.

District Attorney Thomas Quinn wrote in a tweet confirmed by a spokesperson for the office that the shooting took place on Bank Street in the city.

There is no ongoing threat to the public, according to the D.A.

One of the men killed is the suspected shooter, who "apparently took his own life," D.A. Quinn wrote.

The two women injured during the shooting are being treated at a local hospital.

The extent of their injuries and their current condition have not been disclosed.

Names of the two men killed are not yet being released, as investigators are still trying to learn what happened.

In another tweet, Quinn wrote that their identities will be released later today, after investigators speak to witnesses and "sort through the facts of what occurred."
