Turbine Sunbather Is A Monk

On Friday, I posted a story and video of a guy sunbathing high atop the R.I. coastline while soaking in the rays on top of a huge wind turbine in Portsmouth. Well, it turns out that he is a Benedictine monk who just wanted to be a bit closer to the heavens. Brother Joseph Byron was videoed sunbathing on the top of the Portsmouth Abbey School's wind turbine when this annoying drone zoomed in and disturbed his tranquility.

Byron says he climbs the turbine often because the view is beautiful of Narragansett Bay in the background. When the video was posted online, Byron found himself an instant celebrity, with many of his old friends, he hadn't heard from in years, contacted him after viewing the video. He said at first he found the drone interesting, but after it flew back around a second time, he got annoyed.
