It’s not every day that a New Bedford student earns a full, four-year scholarship to an Ivy League university. But 18-year-old Sabrina Fay, a senior at the Global Learning Charter Public School has one, and she intends to put it to good use. Sabrina was chosen by Princeton University through a program called QuestBridge based in California. QuestBridge links low-income students with scholarship opportunities. It has made more than 900 of those "links" so far this year. Sabrina Fay and Ashley McPherson, a Counselor from the school's office of College and Careers will share Sabrina's remarkable story about QuestBridge and Princeton with WBSM's Jim Phillips on this week's Townsquare Sunday.

Townsquare Sunday with Jim Phillips can be heard each Sunday at 6 a.m. on WBSM 1420 and WBSM.com. Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program highlighting non-profits and community organizations in the Greater New Bedford area. If you have a public event, festival, or neighborhood activity you want to publicize, submit your information here.
