A 17 year old student at Westport High School is facing criminal charges after making violent threats towards the school.

Police searched the students home on Friday, but no firearms were found.

The threats were reported by other students, and in a release, Westport Police commended those students for coming forward.

Westport was one of four local school districts where threats were reported in the wake of Wednesday's school shooting in Florida.

Disciplinary action is pending against students in Dartmouth and New Bedford for making threatening statements.

In Fall River, an anonymous threat was made over social media. The FBI is assisting Fall River Police in their investigation.
