There will be more cops killed.  I don't want to say that but it is the truth.

For some there seems to be a justification for killing cops based on this false premise that white cops are killing young black men at will and unpunished, though the statistics do not bare that out.  Politicians are making hay off of this false narrative and the news networks are making money. Don't matter that it's not true.  And people who spend their day with their nose buried in their cellphone screen show little interest in learning the truth.

Our political leaders seem to be less interested in leading than pandering.  Hillary Clinton, telling the NAACP today, "everyone is safer when everyone is respected by the law."  Translation, it's the cops fault so go and kill a few more, maybe they'll get it.  President Obama suggests that if the police just admit their mistakes they will be a whole lot safer. That's what passes for leadership in 2016.

A 30 second video clip on a cell phone now passes as proof that cops are killing off the black race at an alarming race and as a result we are placing our police officer's lives in great danger.  Major cites have begun doubling up officers in patrol cars and dispatching two cars minimum when calls come in.  Problem is small cities like New Bedford and Fall River don't have the resources to do that and  that means that our officers are left vulnerable. Police recruitment is off  too. A city without police cannot survive more than a day. How do you protect a city when you can't keep the cops safe?

As Los Angeles Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said, we've entered "uncharted territory." Commissioner Bratton is correct and until we can unite behind the truth and behind our police officers the sad truth is that there will be more police funerals.
