The Zeiterion’s EBT Card to Culture Program Makes Theater Accessible for Everyone
For the 2017/2018 Season, the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center is proudly participating in a state-wide initiative that "democratizes the access to culture" for our area.
The Mass Cultural Council's EBT Card to Culture program was designed to make art & cultural experiences available to low-income families at area museums, theaters, and New Bedford's Zeiterion.
EBT card holders can purchase tickets (to eligible shows) for just $5 each. This special ticket pricing allows families to enjoy performances including dance, comedy, musical acts and more. For each eligible show, a minimum of 25 tickets will be set aside the box office for the program. The Zeiterion's Marketing Director, Penny Pimentel, says the program has been well-received so far.
It allows us to serve a population that may not otherwise be able to afford a theatre experience. It democratizes the access to culture.
Some of the upcoming shows include children's' favorite Charlotte's Web on Sunday, March 25; Pinkalicious on Friday, April 27; Curious George on Sunday, May 20.
