A group of artists in New Bedford are joining forces on May 4 and May 5 to present "The Hatch Arts Weekend" in a historic mill complex at 88 and 90 Hatch St. It’s part of the ArtWeek celebration across Massachusetts. It's a free family event featuring exhibitions of visual and performing arts. Amanda Walker and Tracy Barbosa are local artists from Hatch Street Studios. They join Jim Phillips this week to discuss the Arts Weekend event and New Bedford's growing prominence in the Mass. Cultural Community.

Join Hatch Street Studios artists and friends in celebration of visual & performing arts on this exciting weekend inspired by the statewide ArtWeek! We’ll be offering behind the scenes guided tours, participatory demonstrations, live music, clowning around, dancing, make-and-take art projects, an arts market and so much more!

Townsquare Sunday with Jim Phillips can be heard each Sunday at 6 a.m. on WBSM 1420 and WBSM.com. Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program highlighting non-profits and community organizations in the Greater New Bedford area.
