Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a bear hug robbery in New Bedford this past Sunday.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says a 14-year-old male was arrested at the Whaling City Alternative School at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The 14-year-old has been identified as the person in a video seen assaulting the 66-year-old male victim near County Street and Rivet Street.

It's alleged the 14-year-old bear hugged the victim from behind, then reached into the victim's pocket and took some cash before fleeing with a 16-year-old accomplice who was arrested at his home around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Both suspects are being charged with Unarmed robbery of a person over 60 years of age.
