Taunton Man Arrested For Thursday Night Shooting

A Taunton man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old in New Bedford late Thursday night.

Ashley Bendiksen, an Executive Assistant with the Bristol County District Attorney's office says 18-year-old Syrelle Grace will be arraigned Monday morning in New Bedford District Court on a charge of murder.

Grace is accused of shooting Marcel Francois in Harrington Park around 11:30 p.m.

Police responded after they received 911 calls reporting gunshots near Liberty St. and Court St. and found Francois suffering from gunshot wounds.

EMT's arrived and transported Francois to St. Luke's Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
