Hurricane Jose

Trash collection in the City of New Bedford will be delayed beginning Wednesday morning, September 20, 2017, due to the expected winds and impact of Hurricane Jose.

Mayor Jon Mitchell says New Bedford is well-prepared for Hurricane Jose, and urges individual residents to prepare as well.

Hurricane Jose is apparently on it's way.  While the minimal hurricane is likely to skip off to sea to our southeast it is expected to impact the region with tropical force winds and heavy rain.  The biggest threat from the storm could be erosion along the immediate south coast...
