East Beach Road and the Gooseberry Island Causeway in Westport, well-traveled spots, especially in the summer, were damaged by stormy weather.

Westport's Gooseberry Island was once home to a campground complete with a casino. The island is now part of the Horseneck Beach State Reservation.
