Swansea Police Pay Ransom To Hackers
Police in Swansea have paid 750-dollars in ransom money to a group of hackers. On November 6th someone in the department opened an e-mail attachment. That launched the virus called "CryptoLocker," which locked up the department's computer files. After notifying the FBI, the department paid the ransom in a form of online currency known as "bitcoins." The files were then unlocked and appeared to be unharmed.
