Both New Bedford and Fall River have seen an uptick in gun violence over the past few weeks.

During his monthly appearance on WBSM, District Attorney Sam Sutter said he'll continue to seek dangerousness hearings for those caught with illegal guns.

He's also promising swift prosecutions and consistantly tough sentencing recommendations for those found guilty.

He added, police must do a better job collaborating on finding the straw-purchasers of handguns...someone who goes to gun shows to buy guns, and then selling them to someone else.
