Suspected Arson of Car Under Investigation in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD — Police and Fire Department officials are investigating after a car was found burning behind a local market.

New Bedford Police responded to reports of a vehicle on fire behind Giammalvo's Market at 1914 Purchase Street at 7:43 p.m. on Tuesday.

Firefighters extinguished the fire.

The incident is under investigation as possible arson by the Police and Fire Departments.
