NEW BEDFORD — A man wanted for kidnapping and violently raping a woman in New Bedford last year has been added to the Massachusetts State Police Most Wanted list.

Carlos Vizcaino, 33, is alleged to have held a woman at knifepoint on May 31, 2018, before physically assaulting her several times and committing a violent sexual assault.

The victim was able to escape and was seen fleeing a vehicle while nude. Police found the woman, who had suffered numerous injuries, and transported her to a local hospital.

Through their investigation, police identified Vizcaino as the man wanted in connection to the kidnapping and assault.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Vizcaino.

Vizcaino is described as a black male, 5'7" tall, 185 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. He is reportedly a native of the Dominican Republic but has also claimed to be from Puerto Rico. Vizcaino has multiple aliases including Luis Castro, Luis Linares, and Angel Maysonet.

In addition to the warrant for kidnapping and sexual assault issued out of New Bedford District Court, Vizcaino has four other warrants for his arrest out of Massachusetts for various motor vehicle violations out of Lynn, Lawrence, Framingham, and Plymouth District Courts. He has an additional warrant for motor vehicle violations out of Salem, NH District Court.
