Suspect in Murder of Allan Monteiro, Sr. Held without Bail
NEW BEDFORD — The man accused of fatally stabbing Allan Monteiro, Sr., in a New Bedford apartment on Thursday has been ordered held without bail.
James Andrews, 51, of New Bedford, was arraigned Friday morning in Third District Court in New Bedford. He will return to court on September 30.
Andrews is charged with murder in connection to the Thursday morning death of Allan Monteiro, Sr., also of New Bedford, who was found stabbed in an apartment at 345 Cottage Street at 5:25 a.m.
Andrews is also charged with failing to register as a sex offender. He was convicted of assault and battery on a child under 14 in 1992.
