Acushnet Man Arrested on OUI Charges for Third Time

NEW BEDFORD— An Acushnet man has been arrested and charged for the third time for driving under the influence.

New Bedford Police say the incident took place outside of Care One in New Bedford around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night. Scott Ellis, 54, of Acushnet was parked in the parking lot of the facility and was sitting inside of his vehicle.

Police approached and questioned Ellis. After further investigation and through the officer's observations, Ellis was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, third offense.
