When I write about voter fraud it upsets the termites that devour civil rights with their denials. President Obama's Justice Department prosecuted voter fraud.

The news magazine show 60 Minutes ran a typical anti-Trump hit piece this past Sunday night. They mocked the idea that there is voter fraud in the United States and they used their platform to cast all such claims into disrepute. Only a fool would worry about voter fraud and those who aren't fools are working to suppress legitimate votes by Americans who tend to vote Democrat.

Reality is much different from what some in the media would lead you to believe.

This past Friday, the Democrat Attorney General of New Jersey indicted a number of elected officials for their roles in a wide-ranging voter fraud conspiracy in the city of Paterson, NJ. Given the demographics of that city, the conspiracy stole the civil rights of minority voters who vote nearly always for Democrats.

We in Massachusetts know about voter fraud thanks to the work of President Obama's Justice Department investigation and conviction of a local elected official. Democrat State Representative Stephen "Stat" Smith of Everett pled guilty to stealing the civil rights of his neighbors through a multi-year voter fraud conspiracy.

Then-Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz, appointed by President Obama, said this about State Rep. Smith: “Fair and free elections are the foundation that this great nation was built upon. Our electoral system is unrivaled, and it is egregious that an elected member of our Commonwealth would rob his constituents of a fair and honest election”.

When Rep. Smith was in the Massachusetts legislature he served on the House committee that writes elections laws. Let that sink in. He was sentenced to four months in federal prison, a $20,000 fine, and barred from running for elected office for five years.

Voter fraud is a crime against our Republic and each citizen who honestly cast a ballot. President Trump is correct to defend our voting laws as was President Obama before him.
