Massachusetts State Police have released the names of three people killed in a crash on I-195 in Westport on Wednesday.

The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. when a Dodge Caravan livery van, owned by Regal Transit of New Bedford, crossed from the westbound side of I-195, drove through a grass median, and entered the eastbound side, where it struck a BMW 328i head-on.

The driver of the van, 68-year-old John Oliveria of Dartmouth, was taken to Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River where he was later pronounced dead.

A front seat passenger, 55-year-old Josephine Mazzocca of New Bedford, was declared dead at the scene.

The front seat passenger of the BMW, 23-year-old Karonlyne Camile Lima of New Bedford, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

A rear seat passenger in the van, identified as a 56-year-old New Bedford man, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence along with driver of the BMW, identified as a 25-year-old Fall River man.

A three-year-old boy, who State Police say was a rear-seat passenger in the BMW, was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence.

Three other vehicles were in secondary crashes following the initial crash including a Subaru Outback the burst into flames.

The driver of the Subaru, identified as a 27-year-old Waterbury, Vermont, man, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

The incident remains under investigation by State Police from the Dartmouth Barracks and the State Police Detective Unit for Bristol County, with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
