State Police Helicopter Spots Shark Off Cape Cod Beach [VIDEO]
PROVINCETOWN — Following an apparent shark attack in Truro on Wednesday, Massachusetts State Police are monitoring the Cape Cod coastline for shark activity.
Troopers Fairchild and Boulos, assigned to the State Police Air Wing, along with Provincetown Police officer Rich Alves, were patrolling the beaches in the helicopter on Thursday afternoon when they spotted a shark about 30 yards from the shore at Race Point Beach in Provincetown.
The troopers alerted bathers to the shark using the helicopters public address system and instructed them to get out of the water.
No injuries were reported.
The beach was closed to swimming after the sighting.
