Stabbing Suspects Ordered Held Without Bail
The two suspects arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a New Bedford teenager Wednesday night were ordered held without bail.
Gregg Miliote, the Director of Communications for the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, said that 21-year-old Luis Rafael Class was arraigned Thursday morning in New Bedford District on charges of accessory to murder after the fact, and assault and battery.
The other suspect, identified only as a 16-year-old male, was arraigned Thursday morning in New Bedford Juvenile Court on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
New Bedford Police say the stabbing took place around 6:22 p.m. when officers were called to the area of Middle St. and Chancery St. over reports that three people had been stabbed.
One of the victims, identified as 15-year-old Mateo Morales, died from his injuries.
The other two victims, identified as a 16-year-old male and a 22-year-old male, were taking to area hospitals where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The 16-year-old male was released from the hospital.
Miliote says the incident remains under investigation by New Bedford Police, Massachusetts State Police Deceives assigned to the District Attorney's Office and Homicide Unit prosecutors.
