Stabbing Reported In South End

New Bedford Police are investigating a stabbing Friday night outside the 7-11 store on Cove Road in the South End.

Police Chief David Provencher tells WBSM News, the incident happened between 6-7pm.  He says at least three people, two men and a woman, were involved in an altercation when the stabbing happened.

According to the Chief, the male victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, but his condition is not known.  Police cordoned off the area while investigating the incident.  Further details were not available.
