Parishioners and supporters of St. John The Baptist Parish on County Street in New Bedford continue to fight the planned closing of the church, now set for November 4th.

An estimated 200 parishoners gathered outside Bishop George Coleman's house in Fall River last night, praying that he reconsider his decision. Bishop Coleman was not present during the hour long protest, but John Kearns, a spokesman for the Fall River Diocese, said the decision to close St. John's was made after lots of study.
