Believe it or not, we're just over a week away from the official start of summer on the SouthCoast.  If you've been out there driving, you may or may not have noticed a shift in the force.  It feels like traffic has leveled up just a bit.

Let's start with the ridiculous orange and white barrells that have taken up residence on 195 West in Westport.  What is the end game with these barrells?  They've been out there,  untouched, for months.  They seemingly reduce traffic to one lane for no reason.

The Infamous 195 Westport Barrel Saga

If there's been construction done in or around the Westport stretch of 195, I certainly haven't seen it.  It's to the point that I've seen local social media influencers threaten to start a rogue campaign to take down the barrells one by one.  I won't mention him by name, but I also wouldn't be mad if someone started doing it.

Dartmouth Route 6 and Faunce Corner Road

This has got to be the worst intersection in the history of the SouthCoast. You've got people disregarding yellow lights and blocking the intersection during red lights like it's their job.  The result is unnecessary gridlock traffic that can ignite road rage in the best of us.

New Bedford Afternoon Traffic on 195

This one is baffling to us.  Every afternoon, for no apparent reason, there is a backup of cars driving over the city of New Bedford.  The issue isn't so much on the eastbound lane, but it's definitely an issue on the westbound lane.

Fall River's Davol Street Detours

Surprise, surprise!  Just in time for summer, it's going to become more frustrating to drive around Fall River's Waterfront due to--wait for it--construction.

This isn't even covering the ongoing headaches from the New Bedford/Fairhaven bridge.  Wait til that closes for the rebuild!  Yikes.
