Another search using underwater sonar equipment has failed to turn up any sign of 21-year-old Marion resident Dana Dourdeville, who has been missing since going duck hunting off West Island in Fairhaven on New Year's Eve.
Friday's search was carried out by New Bedford Police using two side-scan sonar devices, which were towed behind the police department's boat. Sgt. Jason Gomes told The Standard-Times that they searched a two square mile area for about eight hours, but found no trace of Dourdeville. The equipment was donated by two local firms--Edge Tech of Wareham and Ocean Tech Services of Marion.
The Dourdeville family is asking area residents on Facebook, through the Search for Dana page, to spend some time on Sunday walking the West Island shoreline and checking the water with binoculars.
