Plainville voters Tuesday overwhelmingly backed a host community agreement for a slots parlor at the town's harness race track.

Penn National stepped in last week, offering to buy the track if the site gets the slots parlor license from the state after regulators disqualified the track's current owner. Meanwhile, voters in West Springfield have voted down a host city agreement for a proposed casino from Hard Rock International.

Springfield voters have already OK'd a competing proposal there while a vote is set for November for a proposal in Palmer.
